Nun Labor on Labor Day

On this Labor Day I thought I would share with you some of the “labors of love” our creative nuns have come up with this year.

By the way…Mother Catherine Marie gave a vacation day to us today! Therefore, we have been dispensed from all unnecessary work (meaning some nuns still had to answer door, phone and prep a simple meal, etc.) so as to be free for personal activities such as study, arts and crafts, working in the gardens, etc. The Lord has been giving us LOTS of rain lately which makes for good weeding of flower gardens.  In an upcoming post I hope to share with you some of the various types of mushrooms we have around here and with all the rain they are quite plentiful this year!

  1. I have been reading the posts but not had the opportunity to post replies. This is one of my favorite posts. I am looking forward to the rosary purses showing up in the gift shop.

  2. Lovely creations…I will also look forward to purchasing the handmade rosary pouches…really love those and they will be even more meaningful as they were indeed made with love.

  3. God has filled St Joseph’s Monastery with so many gifted women. Let me know when the gift shop doors are open because I have my eye on a few things. I love homemade items!

  4. Love the gifts, you are all so creative. I man our little gift shop at our Church on Saturday evenings and there is always a demand for rosary pouches and nice rosary beads. I live in New South Wales, Australia so too far away to buy from your shop unfortunately. Love reading your blogs and newsletters so feel like I know you all a little. God bless you.

We'd love to hear from you...
